Graphic Warning on Tobacco Products - Dilution 1

These Documents are authenticated documents from the Government of India files which show how the graphic warnings which were supposed to be on all tobacco products were diluted to benefit the tobacco industry.

This year, tobacco killed 6 million people, 72 percent of whom reside in low- and middle-income countries. If current trends continue, tobacco will kill 7 million people annually by 2020 and more than 8 million people annually by 2030.

Tobacco use is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced.

  • There are more than one billion smokers in the world.

  • Globally, use of tobacco products is increasing, although it is decreasing in high-income countries.
